勇者＝イングランド軍？ ～イングランド軍の勝利を讃えるヘンデル
ヘンデルは、当初劣勢だったイングランドの奮起を図るべく、オラトリオ「ユダス・マカベウス Judas Maccabaeus」を作曲し始めた。
しかし、1746年のカロドン・ミュアの戦いでイングランド軍が大勝利を収めると、この戦いを指揮した活躍したカンバーランド公爵ウィリアム・オーガスタス（Prince William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland)を讃えるセリフを台本に書き加え、その勝利を全面にオラトリオの中で表現した。
