Meet Cinnamon 1, Japan’s New Humanoid Robot for Loud Worksites
Japan’s Donut Robotics just revealed its new bipedal humanoid robot that’s designed specifically for noisy work environments.
The Tokyo-based startup, launched in 2014 in a garage and incorporated in 2016, says its first full-sized humanoid, named Cinnamon 1, understands human gestures commonly used in settings too loud for voice interactions like construction sites and factories. According to its developers, the robot’s advanced computer vision and vision-language-action AI stack enable it to coordinate with human coworkers naturally.

The company says it developed the robot with commercially available components. They plan to move toward full domestic Japanese production for future iterations. They’re aiming to deploy the robots at real worksites by the end of 2026.
Pricing for the Cinnamon 1 has not been disclosed but Donut’s existing service robots start around $15,000.
